I believe I heard on the radio that Smith would get the start but it was his last chance to redeem himself.

I hope you are right, the Flames really need to get a new goalie that can stop a puck. Mike Smith can't stop a beach ball right now.

If Smith is starting it is probably because we want Rittich for the better team in San Jose. Honestly though if it was me I'd just start Rittich both games. Smith's had more than enough chances to not be garbage and yet he still is.

Nope. Rittich tonight, Smith tomorrow according to a few flames sources (Steinberg, Wills, etc.)

If we can pull off the W tonight it'll relieve some of the pressure for tomorrow night.

Hamonic was a monster out there tonight. Best game I've seen him play as a Flame. Hopefully he can keep that up.

And Rittich with his first shutout. He should be getting next game, but it sounds like it's still Smith. He's gotta be getting on a pretty short leash, especially given how Rittich's been playing.

Even though it’s back to back, I’d still start Rittich.

I'm not worried, regardless of which goaltender we'll face.

"Peters confirmed (after Saturday's game) that, indeed, Mike Smith, who was in net for a 3-2 loss at Anaheim on Wednesday, will be in net against the Sharks. "

(frank) man. This pisses me off. Reward Ritter for a fantastic game. Its not like hes being played much, because our coach is fcking stupid. I cant even watch the game tomorrow, I cant stand watching Smith after every goal goes in pointing at someone

He whines to the refs after every goal like he got hit by a zamboni and they should have done something to prevent the puck from going in. Half the time when a player bumps him he sprawls out looking for a call instead of tracking the puck to make the next save. It is vexing to watch.
Either he’s playing like a moron or he’s not 100% healthy.

Need to take some meds. Coach knows that in order to seriously contend we need Smith playing like he did a year ago this time. Back to back games is usually split by most teams in the NHL. Smith kinda gets this game today to either step up or you will be seeing Riitch against the Habs & if he wins & plays well in that game, Riitch will get the #1 starts for the next while until he falters or the next back to back. Sounding off on the coach is way offside imo.

Thing is though, it's not like Rittich had to work all that bloody hard last night. LA played like poop, as has Smith. So why not ride the hot hand for the second half? Flames didn't even have to cross a state line FFS, so travel time isn't a reason.
